Education Committee new office Inaugurated in koperkhairane by Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik.

Feb 02,2009,
The new office of the NMMC Education Committee was inaugurated at the hands of Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik where the department also accepted the ISO certification. With the aim to enhance the quality of education in NMMC schools and improve the working of the NMMC Education Committee, a new Education office was inaugurated at the first floor of the ward office at Koperkhairane. The inauguration was done at the hands of Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik. Also present was CIDCO Director Namdeo Bhagat, NMMC Education Committee Chairman Ravi Iyer amongst other dignitaries. Speaking for the department, Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik stated that proper infrastructure for NMMC schools, provision of school equipments free of cost and quality of education would always be the main objective of the Education Committee. The NMMC Education Committee is undergoing a lot of welcome changes ever since Ravi Iyer has taken over as the Committee’s Chairman. Unlike past chairmen including Ram Vichare who were busy with their businesses and hardly attended to the basic needs of municipal education or made any attempt to better the quality of education imparted in municipal schools. During Ram Vichare’s tenure, the education committee was marred with several allegations of corruption in uniforms, books and even mid-day meals. However, when Ravi Iyer took over, not only did it lift the image of the education committee but the Chairman has also been more focus, determined and displays will to initiate measures that are a hopeful beginning of the change that is needed within classroom of municipal schools. We caught up with NMMC Education Committee Chairman Ravi Iyer post the inauguration ceremony. Beyond any doubt, Ravi Iyer seems to be living up to the expectations that Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik had while appointing him as the NMMC Education Committee Chairman.
